List of deputies of Hadhrat Pir Fazal Ali Qureshi (d.1935) quddisa sirruhū (may his secret be sanctified) is presented here, as this information is sought after by many Naqshbandi followers. Originally, 66 or 67 names were usually known from the list published in biographies. Just recently, a more complete list with 98 names has been researched and published by Pir Karamullah Ilahi Ghaffari Naqshbandi, alias Dilbar Saeen, one of the well known Naqshbandi shaykhs in Sindh today. It is published in Malfuzat Fazalia, written by Hadhrat Pir Mittha and published by Dilbar Saeen in 2012. The order of names is almost the same as appears therein, with updated information about locations using Google Maps (spellings etc). Some other changes have been made, and as more information is sought, this list will be updated.
- Hadhrat Mawlānā Shaykh Muhammad Abd ul-Ghaffār alias Pir Mitthā (d.1964). Originally from village Langar, Jalālpur Pīrwālā, Punjab. Later migrated to Rahmatpur sharif, Larkānā, Sindh. He had extreme love of his shaykh, and he even married his daughter to the shaykh, in the footsteps of Sayyidinā Abū-Bakr Siddīq raḍiy-Allāhu ʿanhu. He was an excellent poet of Sarāiki language and his naats and manqabats are highly popular. He was the Shaykh of Khwāja Allāh-Bakhsh Abbāsī alias Sohnā Sāeen (d.1983).

yes … Pir Ghulam Habib Naqshbandi doesn’t feature there (maybe because he is ‘Deobandi’ and therefore ‘Ghustákhe-Rasool’, SubhánALLAH !) … I was in his Majális when I was in my early 20’s … I left a comment for the owner of this blog but an amazing ‘karámat’ happened, so much so that my comment simply disappeared into thin air; I met some of Pir Sáheb’s Khulafáh, but one that I recently had communicated was Pir Naeemullah Farooqi Sáheb … I am leaving a link here for you, which you will find highly informative; my Pir-o-Murshid is from the Chistiyah-Sáberiyah-Imdádiyah Silsiláh and he knew Pir Ghulám Habib Sáheb very well indeed, and he spoke very glowingly about him:

does it mean they (these three Eminent Personalities) should not feature in the list of the Eminent Khulafah of Pir Fazal Ali Quraishi ? … I was in the programmes of Pir Ghulam Habib Chakwáli in the late 70’s/early 80’s; he was my late father’s Pir-o-Murshid (and there were arrogant people here who did not see him eye-to-eye, amongst them, at least one Molvi Sáheb [who thought he was a fake Pir]) … but after a long fact-finding quest on my side, and at least one Karámat which I witnessed, and some of Pir Sáheb’s friends being High-Ranking Auliyáh (amongst them, my Pir-o-Murshid in the Silsiláh Imdádiyah Sáberiyah) attesting to his (Pir Ghulam Habib’s lofty status), I came to the conclusion that one should not denigrate any Personality (no matter what others say, even if they are Sanadi Molvis) … I also heard of Khwaja Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar (alias Pir Mitha) being amongst very High-Ranking Auliyáh (as mentioned by the Khulafáh of Pir Ghulam Habib Sáheb) … JazákumALLAH !

Hazrat Pir Ghulam Habib is not mentioned in this list, primarily because he was not a direct khalifa of Hazrat Khwaja Gharib-nawaz Pir Fazal Ali Qureshi rahmatullah alaih. It has nothing to do with Deobandi/non-Deobandi stuff. The fact is that Hazrat Khwaja Gharib-nawaz gave honorary khilaafat to certain khulafa of his khulafa, even though they were not his direct murids or khalifas.
As is known, Pir Ghulam Habib was a murid of Mawlana Abdul Malik Siddiqi and also his khalifa.
Similarly, Mawlana Sayyid Zawwar Hussain Shah was a murid and khalifa of Mawlana Muhammad Saeed Qureshi, but also received honorary khilafah from Hazrat Khwaja Gharib-nawaz. There may be other such names, and they are not listed here because they were not direct khulafa.

Jazákumullahu khayran for the posts you have been sending me continuously, and for the comment you made … I myself don’t go into Deobandi/non-Deobandi stuff, since I was not born in the Indian Subcontinent and also because all the subject matter discussed here in these posts is to do with Sulook/Tasawwuf (purification of the Soul); it is for this reason that I do not mingle unnecessarily with Molvi Sáhebán (irrespective of which Maktab-e-Fikr they come from) – as I mentioned in my earlier post, I was told by a Molvi Sáheb who attended the Majlis/Majális of Pir Ghulam Habib Naqshbandi that he was a fake Pir, and I fell for it headlong (it could be that he was saying this with overconfidence and lack of tawádhu, thinking that the Sanad of Ilm that he acquired from a Darul-Uloom is all there is to attain – only Allah Subhánahu Ta’álá knows what he would have said of Khwájáh Fadhl Ali Quraishi Sáheb, had he been in his Majlis – this Molvi Sáheb would have considered him a Fake Pir as well! Inná lillah …. !) What these type of Molvi Sáhebán fail to grasp is that the very Hadhrat Maulana Sáheb who devised the whole system of Darse-Nizámi felt the need to become bay’at with a Shaykhe-Tariqat; taking the further example of Hadhrat Maulana Jaláluddin Rumi, such a highly accomplised Scholar of his time who surrendered himself to Khwájáh Shamse-Tabrez; my conclusion is that this type of disdainful attitude (from anyone, including scholars) is highly detrimental to one’s Iman !
We know that Pir zulfiqar claims to be deobandi, However that was not the case with Ghulam habeeb saheb
Infact when the tehreek of khatam e nabuwwat was on its peak in Pakistan and the deobandis were very active in his area running their campaign, at that point somebody said to gulam habib saheb that you deobandis hold this stance to which he responded by saying ‘although we are not deobandi but our stance on khatam e nabuwwat is the same as theirs’ therefore he was on record and openly said he was not Deobandi
Likewise a Brelwi naqshbandi shaykh from UK met him In Madina tul munawwarah and go to know him, That scholar said that i was of the opinion that he was deobandi as he is always surrounded by them and is invited to their mosques etc, However i have come to know that their aqaaid are the same as ours and they are sufi’s and great men of Allah
Also even today at their madrassah in chakwaal they are known to be very neutral and have bothe deobandis and brelwis coming there and distributing their leaflets etc
Finally he was a great Mufassir e Quran who used to do tafseer of the quran from the quraan, Indeed he was blessed
Hazrat Abdul malik siddiqi RA was not deobandi either however the faizaan of the mashaikh e naqshbandiya Mujaddidiya Fazaliya was distributed to many including many Ulama and Ulama of deoband Through Abdul Malik Siddiqi and Many others but he himself was not Deobandi but was hanafi and naqshbandi and a great Sufi who had his sulook completed in the company of his own shaykh and likewise Ghulam Habib Saheb
Regarding there current day khulafaa i can not say because some have indeed moved away from the mashaikhs teachings by limiting themselves into certain masaalik i.e deobandi etc

one very notable Scholar (and also an accomplished Hakim) from Darul-Uloom Deoband was the Khalifah-e-Majáz of Khwájáh Abdul Málik Siddiqi [qsa] … i.e. Maulana Khalilur-Rahman Bijnori [qsa] who made tremendous efforts on individuals on the Indian side of the former Indian Subcontinent, namely Bombay …
It is not clear whether Maulana Mohammad Alam Pagli Kashmir is the same person who lived in Maqbooza Kashmir near Srinagar. He was my Murshid and passed away in 1988 at an age of more than hundred years. He was initially Murid of Kh. Fazli Ali Sahab RA and later on received spiritual instruction from Maulana Mohammad Malik Siddique RA. He belonged to Khyber Pakhtunwa and his clan had migrated to Kashmir long before partition and settled near Srinagar. He established his Khanqah at Gutli Bagh Ganderbal, Srinagar in 1360 A.H.
Thank you so much for providing this valuable information. Perhaps he was the same person. Some other murids of Maulana Abdul Malik Siddiqi also received khilafat from Khwaja Fazal Ali, so he may also have received khilafat from Hazrat Khwaja while being murid of Maulana sahib. As you can see, we have very little information about the khulafa of Hazrat Pir Qureshi. But Insha Alllah, we will collect more information about these saints.
